L’insegnabilità di fenomeni lessicali complessi. Quando i docenti “vanno a Canossa”
Keywords:
polirematics, higher lexical units, idiomatisms, paremias, proverbs, Italian L2Abstract
This contribution examines the teachability of polirematics, higher lexical units, idiomatisms and paremias.
The research method was qualitative, 126 teachers of Italian L2 employed in institutions of all types and levels, public and private, were involved. The survey
was conducted, during 2021, through the administration of an electronic questionnaire disseminated by social media and through mailing lists.
The significant results obtained, thanks to the professional variety of the sample questioned, made it possible to answer the research questions and it is hoped that the research will continue with a greater sample.
The conclusions allow us to assert that a complex linguistic phenomenon is teachable if teachers allow linguistics and language teaching to have a dialogue on the nature of the phenomenon and on the didactic models. In the absence of this dialogue, the phenomenon is only partially perceived by teachers, who teach these phenomena depriving them of their complexity.
