Modified winged words from a typological and terminological perspective in English, German and Italian phraseological studies: Ed è subito caos.
Keywords:
phrasemes, intertextuality, quotation patterns, modificationAbstract
The present contribution aims at identifying typological and terminological lacunae in phraseological literature from an interlingual perspective with regards to intertextual phrasemes that are retraceable to a source or an author and that tend to function as patterns. After outlining the common ground of the theoretical foundation, this paper will show, through a comparison of basic classifications found in the English, German and Italian phraseological literature, that there is a variety of different terms used in each language. However, these typological and terminological sets do not entirely cover the full range of the objects of interest. In conclusion the concern is being raised whether it is possible and feasible providing a sufficient set of terms that can facilitate interlingual approaches.
